• Overview - An up specced utility offering that granted the buyer many additional features that were available in the VN range. A "VG Formula" did not exist, although the Formula kit could be optioned on the S Utility.

HSV Maloo

• DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
• Overview - By mating the SV89 drive train and existing HSV body additions to the Utility platform HSV was able to create a very popular and powerful ute. Although suspension changes resulted in a drop of the payload capacity to 592kg from 718kg, it hardly bothered the buyer as this ute was more of a street performer than for pulling tools.
  
• Mechanical - As for VN HSV SV89
• Interior - Grey velour sports seats with check pattern inserts, red beading and red SV graphics, fully carpeted, dark grey leather Momo steering wheel and matching leather gear lever knob on manuals, tachometer and could have optional overhead clock and Calais instruments
• Exterior - Only Alpine White or Maranello Red (two were produced in Holden Motor Sport livery, one in Imperial Blue and one in Jewell Midnight) with SV3800 grill, elongated SV3800 side skirts, front and rear air dam as for SV89, deleted body mouldings, body colour recess in center of tailgate for number plate, modified SV5000 spoiler on trailing edge of cabin roof with a thin horizontal stop light, HSV badge on center of bonnet above grill and rear of front wheel arches, Maloo decal on driver's side tail gate and large HSV design on tonneau cover. Five spoke SV rims.

Various graphic packaged were available:

070 - dark grey lower panels behind front wheel arch only sweeping up behind rear wheel arches tp include complete rear section in dark grey. A re stripe follows the dark grey's upward sweep.

060 - diagonal body side graphic pattern of twin red stripes a dark grey section and black rear section with the same pattern repeated on tailgate and red Maloo graphic on doors.

050 - dark grey lower body included bumpers and twin pinstripes above waist line.
