Door seals for a VN

Postby savage1987 » Mon Nov 24, 2008 12:10 am

What's my best option for some new door seals? Genuine Holden? Or are the Clarke Rubber ones OK?

I'm pretty sure Nevyn used Clark Rubber items with some success.

I did....I got them from off a VR at pick-a-part, but it turns out they are the universal fit ones. Not what u'll want for the VN-VS because the pinch weld is too small to fit over the roof lining......

but having said that, they do a good job and are all black....they are also all once piece, so no problem with them coming apart. When I get the bonus money I'll be getting right ones......u'll need about 3 meters for each door, at about $28/meter it works out about the same price as the Holden and Rare Spare ones, but with CR ones you get them in all black (if thats what u want) and they are all one piece.

Got any pics of yours Nev?

as soon as I sort out me engine problems I'll take some photos for ya...or at the end of the day, which ever comes first :? ........the universal ones I've got are smaller than the VN seals, they fit, but don't hold well with the roof lining and plastics tucked in place.....clark rubber do have specific VN-VS ones thou, they are the ones I'll be getting in just over 2 weeks.....the ones I have now I got second hand from a wreckers.....guess I should have done me research first.

at around $90 per door its not much different to what Holden and Rare Spares charge....but then u always seem to get things cheaper at the dealer over there, give them a ring and see what price they will do......didn't get the photos done yet, I'll be detailing the car in the morning...tomorrow anyway....I'll take some then for ya.

it's what you're legit looking at paying unfortunately... i'm having the same problems... shameful i know, but on parts that are considered necessary... they charge more :(

let me know if the specific clarke rubber ones go ok!!

I've given up on the idea for now. Too much money for door seals. Also I'm switching to a mulberry interior soon so my door seals will change.

old stock I take it.....I went to the local dealer here and was told they discontinued, but I didn't get them to do a country wide search.....I'm still pretty happy with the clark rubber ones, the don't come apart as they are all one piece and ALL black :D
